Allow NHIS Card Holders To Access Health Facilities From Qualified Herbal Centres – T/Dr Akyaa To Gov’t.
The Traditional Doctor in charge of the Power Specialist Hospital located at Fayiase on the Kumasi Lake Bosumtwe road in the Ashanti Region, T/Dr. Akosua Adu Akyaa has passionately appealed to the government to take a second look into a situation where patients are debarred from using their National Health Insurance cards to access health facilities in the herbal hospitals and clinics in the country.
The herbalist underscored that the situation has become a major challenge to some patients who prefer to access health facilities from herbal hospitals to orthodox ones.
Besides the patients who prefer treatment from qualified herbal hospitals and clinics, the situation also affects the operations of qualified herbalists across the country, hence the humble appeal to the government for urgent attention.
T/Dr Akosua Adu Akyaa noted that there are many qualified registered herbal hospitals and clinics in the country that deserve to be given access to handle patients who have NHIS cards.
Therefore it would be worthwhile if her appeal is given the necessary attention to enable those qualified herbal hospitals and clinics to contribute their quota towards the health delivery system in the country.
That was not all, she further made a passionate appeal to the government to come out with measures that could discourage the public from using chemicals to spray and flush out some important herbs from the system.
T/Dr Akyaa said the nation stands the risk to lose all its potential herbs used to treat patients if chemicals are allowed to use to spray the herbs, especially those herbs within the neighborhoods.
The herbalist made the appeal when she was addressing a press conference to announce her 9th prestigious award that she has so far grabbed from the local and international scenes respectively.
Power Specialist Hospital Ltd, having it’s headquarters at Kumasi Feyiase on the Lake Bosumtwe road in the Ashanti Region with branch offices in Accra and Takoradi, T/Dr Akosua Adu Akyaa appealed to the general public to refer their cases to the outfit for proper medical attention.
