The Ashanti Regional Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Paul Kwabena Yandoh has condemned in no uncertain terms the arrest of the former Managing Director of the Ghana Industrial Holding Company (GIHOC) Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah describing the action as a politically motivated and witch hunting.
Mr. Jumah was reportedly arrested on Tuesday April 15th, following what Mr. Yandoh alleged was forceful and intrusive searches conducted by the way representatives from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Speaking to a section of the media today, Mr. Yandoh gave detailss surrounding the arrest.

He stated that EOCO security operatives allegedly stormed Mr. Jumah’s residence at Atonsu in Kumasi on Tuesday April 15 for an unexpected search.
According to Yandoh during the operations the security personnel allegedly forced their way into Mr. Jumah’s private room and seized range of items including documents, laptops and Mr. Jumah’s private room keys.
To further compounding his criticism Mr. Yandoh revealed details of the search about what he termed the whole thing as a breach of Mr. Jumah’s privacy.
This stems the fact that after the alleged condemnatory search, Kofi Jumah was published on the social media platforms..
This move Mr Yandoh said . Indicattes a perceived political intentions behind the operation.
Why the security operatives failed to officially invite Mr. Jumah for action instead of breaking into his privacy, Mr. Yandoh questioned.
, Mr Yandoh said his suspicion heightened to the extent that the operation was designed to humiliate and prosecute the former GIHOC boss due. considering the bad treatments that the Security operatives made Jumah to undergo through.
Mr. Yandoh emphasized that Ghanaians are closely monitoring the activities of the current administration.
He advised the ruling Ndc party to be mindful of their conduct.
The Ndc should note that a change of government is possible, he stated adding that when they go into opposition and face the same treatment they should accept it in good fait because when one throws a ball at the wall it comes back to him.
The Npp Communications Director concluded by reiterating his stance that the arrest and the manner in which it was conducted point towards a deliberate attempt to target political opponents rather than a legitimate pursuit of justice.
The party remains resolute in its condemnation of what they perceive as an abuse of state power for political objectives.
