Bishop J Y Adu Endorses Community Mining As A Means Of Job Creation For The Youth.

As part of his 31st December prophecies, the Nation’s No.1 Prophet, Bishop Dr. Dr. J Y Adu observed that the surest way that could avoid clashes between the youth and security operatives in the community mining areas is the responsibility of the government to ensure that a proper mechanism is put in place to help make the community mining an accident free business across the country.

The founder and leader of New Jerusalem Chapel at Sokoban Ampayoo, Kumasi in the Ashanti region, Bishop ,Dr J Y Adu indicated that if proper attention is given to the activities of community mining it would go a long to not only create permanent jobs for youth but it would also make easier for police to effectively supervise miners without violence.

The clergy explained that what seems to be difficult to seek lasting solution to the activities of galamsey is the fact that the community mining is productive, government is slow to legalize and bring into force proper standards that could help the miners to apply the law.

According to the Bishop government needs to provide standard tools, equipment and machineries to meet standard of modern mining practice to the extent of not destroying water bodies to help make the youth remain in employment.

Bishop Dr John Yaw Adu noted that some few citizens who have been legally liensced to operate community mining are making impact in the country without facing security violence.

What matters most in the community mining, Bishop Dr John Adu said is the way to protect the natural reserves including water bodies, reclaiming of lands after mining activity for the sake of the future generation.

He therefore suggested to the government to use comprehensive approach to discourage the youth interest in illegal mining, whilst finding avenues to regulate the mining industry properly for the benefit of Ghanaians.
