The agricultural landscape in the Berekum West Constituency has received a significant boost, drawing a widespread commendation for the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Dickson Kyere Duah.
The lawmaker who runs on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket has been thrust into the spotlight for his unwavering commitment to support local farmers, a move seen as a strategic contribution to the nation’s agricultural revolution and presidential flagship initiatives.
The Chairman of the Jinijini Cocoa and Cashew Farmers Association, Mr. Kwaku Boahene, widely known as Osofo Kwaku has publicly lauded the MP for his proactive efforts to revitalize the local farming sector.

In an interview with the correspondent, Osofo Kwaku expressed his gratitude and noted that the MP’s actions have provided a much needed morale boost to farmers in the constituency.
Empowering the Backbone of the Economy:
Highlighting the importance of political will in the agricultural sector, Osofo Kwaku emphasized that the prosperity of the nation hinges on the success of its farmers.
If parliamentarians across the country would prioritize and support the agricultural sector as Hon. Dickson Kyere Duah has been doing, our economy would witness a massive growth whilst the burden of unemployment would be reduced, he stated.
Tangible Support for Transformation:
The praise follows a recent event where Hon. Kyere Duah officially launched the Cocoa and Cashew Farmers Association in Jinijini.
During the ceremony, the MP donated a brand new Motorbury facility to the Association to assist in farm management.
Beyond the Motorbury machine, the MP made a firm commitments to provide essential farming equipment and a regular supply of spraying chemicals to assist in pest control and crop protection.
Osofo Kwaku expressed his total confidence in these pledges noting that the MP has a proven track record of fulfilling his promises.
A Call for Collective Responsibility:
Osofo Kwaku took the opportunity to issue a passionate appeal to other well meaning citizens, government appointees, corporate bodies and non governmental organizations (NGOs) to adopt the “Kyere Duah model” of direct support for farmers.
Hon. Dickson Kyere Duah has shown us what is possible when leadership cares about the grassroots.
We need more politicians to adopt the habit of supporting farmers, not just for our sake, but to revamp the agricultural sector for the benefit of all Ghanaians, Chairman Osofo Kwaku added.
As the Berekum West Constituency continues to benefit from these initiatives, the local farming community remains hopeful that such gestures will serve as a blueprint for agricultural development across the Bono region and the nation at large.
