Bring Contractor Working On Kumasi-Dunkwa Road To Book To Avoid Shoddy Work.

Commenting on the position of the Kumasi Dunkwa-On-Offin highway road project, the chief of Dunkwa-On-Offin Dr Okofrobour Obeng Nuako III has described the Contractor working on the road as having doing shoddy work to contribute to persistent road accident.

Nana said the road was awarded to a contractor about four years ago and it has started developing potholes which is causing accidents each week and killing travellers, even though the said contractor believes he is doing perfect job.

This road situation is very worrying and that the authorities need to bring the Contractor to book to do the right thing, the chief who sounded disappointed pointed out.

Dr. Okofrobour Obeng Nuakoh III hinted that road accident occurs almost every week and wondered why the relevant authorities have kept quiet on this naked spectacle.

Dr. Okofrobour Obeng Nuakoh said that the government awarded the contract to a contractor about four years ago but the way it was constructed does not fall in a professional line, auging that all portions which the Contractor claims to have been completed have developed into deep potholes.

The Dunkwa-On-Offin chief on this note appealed to the government as a matter of national interest to prevail on the contractor to revisit his work and make the necessary amendment before unprecedented accident greets the country.

In another development he also touched on the damaging trend of the river offin bridge at Dunkwa which he reiterated, needs urgent attention before an unexpected happens at Dunkwa-On-Offin.

The Chief explained that the bridge now looks very weak coupled with the potholes that have taken dominance on its passage, stressing that it can likely cause trouble if government fails to intervene.

A driver Akwasi Oppong who plies on the Kumasi Dunkwa and Tarkwa road on daily basis described the work of the contractor as shoddy because drivers don’t feel comfortable on the route as it was before when the road was not given to contract.

The driver called on the Road Minister Hon Akwasi Amoako Atta to come to their aid for the avoidance of rampant road accidents.

Touching on the Zongo Development Authority Astro Turf project at Dunkwa ,Dr Okofrobour said, the project which was to be called Obeng Nuako Park has been abondoned.

Nana therefore took the opportunity to appeal to the Vice President Dr Bawumia who came down to cut the sod for the commencement of the project to take action for recommencement to help promotes sporting activities in the area and beyond.
