Call Okyehene To Order Or We Will Advise Ourselves – Chiefs And Elders Of Nsawam Adoagyiri To Nana Akuffo Addo.
At a press conference held at the Cocoa Park at Nsawam Adoagyiri in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern Region on Wednesday August 23, 2023, the chiefs, elders and the entire residents resolved that they would put up a fierce resistance if the Okyehene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II ventures to impose any chief on them.
Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II from intensive probe, allegedly penetrated into the town on Saturday August 19 ,2023, amidst employing heavy security personnel and taskforce,where he successfully managed to pick somebody to be installed as a chief of Nsawam Adoagyiri.
To realize his agenda, the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional King is said to have scheduled the coming Saturday August 26,2023 to officially introduce his handpicked chief to the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri.
A situation this website can state without fear or favor that it could bring out a possible tension and fratricidal violence to disrupt peace of the people.
This is because the peace loving citizens of the town consider Okyehene ‘s actions as an attempt to declare war.
At the press conference, the chiefs, elders and the crowded residents jointly stressed the need for the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to advise Okyehene to reverse his decision of installing a new chief for the town.
On the grounds that the town have a substantial chief who is lawfully gazzeted under the statutory laws of the country.
The Abakomahene of Nsawam Adoagyiri Odiatuo Okatakyie Afrifa who presided over the conference appealed to the Interior Minister, Hon Ambrose Dery, the IGP Dr George Akufo Dampare and all heads of the National Security to intervene and put a stop to Okyenhene’s decision before an unexpected rocks Nsawam Adoagyiri.
According to Okatakyie Afrifa Nsawam Adoagyiri serves and it is under the paramountcy of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council, and therefore has nothing to do with the Akyem Abuakwa Chiefs nor their citizens.
He stressed that the peace loving citizens of Nsawam Adoagyiri will not allowed Okyenhene who is the Omanhene of the Akyem Abuakwa to install chief on the land of Kotoku’s jurisdiction.
Nana Odiatuo Afrifa said, the town has a chief by name Okoanadwo Effutu Dompreh II who has for the past 16 years been the occupant of the prestigious stool of Nsawam Adoagyiri and is still alive, ruling in his capacity as a chief, and as such they don’t want any chief.
Abakomahene hinted that several attempt of using violence means to distool the current chief of Nsawam Adoagyiri have been carried out, but the orchestrators always fail in their plots.
We are still resolved to resist any intruder who would decided to use force to infiltrate our territory, Okatakyie Afrifa firmly asserted, and passionately appealed to President Nana Akuffo Addo to say a word to Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II to foil his motives since the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri are not ready to surrender to him.
“We are not cowards and will fight back at any time Okyenhene would make attempt to attack us “, Okatakyie Afrifa pointed out.
On his part, Nana Kwabena Agyemang from the Royal family of Nsawam Adoagyiri said what Okyenhene did on last Saturday was unlawful for a whole Omanhene to cross his boundaries with an intention to impose himself on innocent people.
He said the Regional House of chiefs has named Nsawam Adoagyiri as the rightful owners of the Nsawam lands and as such, Okyehene has no business to do with the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri.
He added that, if there is a rule of law and Okyenhene is not above the law, then he must be arrested to explain his conduct against the residents of the town.
Nana Agyemang alleged that, Okyenhene has no respect for the police at Nsawam Adoagyiri, hence he always brings his own policemen and taskforce to the town well armed with sophiscated assault riffles in search of someone to be installed as a chief, a dec

The conference grounds attracted a milling crowd who apart from the chanting of war songs to register their protest against the alleged behavior of the Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, they also appealed for presidential intervention, because they remained resolute and firm to resist anyone who would venture to disturb their peace.
