The premises of the Faith Outreach Ministries sited at Kumasi Anloga (Volley Park) in the Ashanti region was filled to capacity on Sunday December 24, 2023 amidst singing and praises to glorify God as the birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated at the global level.
According to the leadership of the church, the Musical Festival dubbed “Shabach” was an annual program which aimed among others, singing praises to revive the souls of church members and more importantly creating awareness on the crucial role which music plays to sustain humans lives.
The festival regarded as a special one, attracted scores of church members, religious leaders and the general public, whilst the Church’s choir led the show.
In a brief interview with the Resident pastor, Rev Simon Abedu Mensah, he expressed worry that music plays a significant role to transform life, but out of ignorance different misinterpretation have been given to the music industry.
The clergy explained that good music promotes comfort in the society whilst profane songs have the tendency to ruin life.
Quoting the book of 1st Samuel 16-14, Rev Simon Abedu Mensah cited how David used songs to comfort the soul of King Saul who was then persistently been haunted by evil forces.
He said there is power in music in that whilst good music can have positive impact on people, it is also undeniable that bad songs can also have negative impact in the society.
On this note, he advised Ghanaians to treat music as a medium which can save or lead one into trouble and observe its application for the sake of our own protection.
