The Asona Royal Family of Krobo Buoho in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti region, has erupted in celebration following a decisive legal victory in a long-standing land dispute.

In the wake of the court’s ruling the family has issued a stern ‘buyer beware’ notice to the general public cautioning against any land transactions involving a man identified as Kwaku Duku.
Led by the Abusuapanin Akora Poku, the family warned that any individual who engages in land deals with the said Mr. Duku does so at their own peril.
According to the family, risking to purchase from him (Dukuu) could lead to a total loss of investment or future demolition of properties as he has no legal claim to the lands in question.

The jubilation follows a final judgment delivered on Monday which brought an end to a suit initiated by Kwaku Duku.
Mr. Duku had dragged the Asona Royal Family to court alleging that a specific piece of land belonged to him and accused the family of forcibly taking it over.
However after a thorough adjudication of the facts, the court dismissed Mr. Duku’s claims, ruling that he was not the owner of the said land. In a significant move to discourage frivolous litigation.
The court further slapped Mr. Duku with a fine of GH¢3,000 to be paid to the Asona Royal Family as compensation for wasting their time and resources throughout the trial.
Reacting to the verdict in an interview with the Correspondent Abusuapanin Akora Poku expressed profound satisfaction with the fair, firm and just manner in which the. Kumasi High handled the case.
He noted that the legal journey had been a source of great anxiety for the family, characterized by numerous court appearances and sleepless nights.
Akora Poku posited that the case has been tried and adjudged by His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II (the Asantehene) in 2012 and 2024 in favor of the Asona Family.
We are relieved that the truth has finally come to light.
This victory is for the entire Krobo Buoho community and we thank the judiciary for standing by the truth.
The Asona Family has reaffirmed its commitment to protect its ancestral lands and ensuring that the rightful heritage of the Royal Family is preserved for future generations.
