The Member of Parliament for Hemang Lower Denkyira, Hon. Lawrence Agyinsam, on Monday April 13 donated desks, sports kits and other teaching learning materials to the District Education Directorate to support schools within the constituency.
The items which the Parliamentarian donated were 560 pieces of furniture consisting mono and dual desks, tables, and chairs.
The intervention was aimed at easing classroom congestion and creating a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
Furthermore, 2,935 assorted items comprising sports equipment and educational materials were also distributed.
These include footballs, jerseys, tracksuits, books, crayons, alphabetical charts, and other essential resources to enhance both academic work and physical development among students.
Receiving the items the District Education Director for Heman ower Denyira,
Miss Lucy Jecinta Afia Nkansah commended the initiative.
She noted that the items will significantly improve teaching and learning amongst students..
It would also encourage active student participation in both academics and sporting activities within the Constituency, she added.
In his brief statement, Hon. Lawrence Agyinsa indicated that the donation forms part of his ongoing commitment to promote quality education and ensuring that schools within his constituency are well-resourced.
