Hypertension and diabetes are the major disease worrying the community and church members – Church Health Director.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in North Kaneshie has launched a complimentary health screening initiative for both the community and its congregation as a highlight of its 40th-anniversary celebrations.
Mrs. Mavis Berkoe, leader of the church’s Health Departments sharing insights from the event, revealed an extensive array of tests that were conducted, including assessments for body mass index, vision, hypertension, diabetes, hearing, prostate, kidney function, liver function, and blood sugar levels, among others.
During the health screening, Mrs. Berkoe noted that hypertension and diabetes emerged as the most prevalent conditions among the participants.
She took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of regular health check-ups, urging both community members and church members to stay informed about their health status.
Elder Patrick Asare-Agyei, chair of the anniversary committee, also spoke to the media, detailing the motivations behind the health screening and other anniversary activities. He highlighted the church’s commitment to fostering wellbeing within the community and amongst its members, underlining the initiative as part of a broader effort to benefit both groups significantly.
