I laughed out loud when I heard that Allan Cash will contest in the 2028 elections &Awal Mohammed
Awal Mohammed, a leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reacted to Alan Kyerematen’s announcement to contest the 2028 presidential election.
He said he laughed when he heard the announcement, citing Alan Kyerematen’s below-expectation performance in the 2024 elections.
“When I heard the announcement that Alan would contest again in 2028, I laughed out loud, given his dismal performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, Awal said the performance of Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen in the 2024 presidential election proves that no one is bigger than the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, the performance of Alan Kyerematen, the flagbearer of the Movement for Change, is a clear indication that the loyalty of the grassroots is rooted in the party rather than with any individual.
He expressed shock that Nana Kwame Bediako, aka Cheddar, performed better than Alan Kyerematen in the election.
In a Facebook post, Awal Mohammed emphasised that Alan Kyerematen, who served as Minister under both the John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regimes, had done a lot in politics which should have translated into votes in the 2024 polls, but his supporters in the NPP chose the party over voting for
“Alan’s involvement in the NPP was rooted in his belief that the party’s support for him was personal, rather than party loyalty.
He entered the NPP presidential race in 2023 with the slogan that it was his turn to lead, given his past experiences. However, he finished in third
This outcome highlights one thing about the NPP: nobody is bigger than the party. You’re valued as long as you’re a member, but if you decide to leave, you’re on your own,” he added
