Prominent Ghanaian lawyer and politician, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has expressed optimism that the NPP will reclaim power in 2028.
Speaking, in an interview on UTV, the minority leader noted that there is no doubt that, despite the challenges and the NPP’s performance over the last 8 years, Dr. Bawumia would stand tallest among his competitors in the 2028 general elections.
Afenyo Markin used former president Akufo Addo’s time to buttress his assertion, stating that “Akufo Addo was written off. Many people wrote him off including the party members”.
He went on to add President Mahama’s first term, noting that the performance was extremely abysmal.
According to Afenyo Markin, it is because of the abysmal performance of the current president that made Ghamaiand voted against him in the 2016 general election.
However, he stated that despite his bad performance, Ghanaians gave President Mahama a second chance to prove himself, the reason why he is the current president of Ghana.
He however advised Dr. Bawumia to pray very hard if truly he wants to become the next president of Ghana, revealing that the election is more spiritual than physical.
