The Municipal Chief Executive of Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Hon. Sebastian Obenng has warned owners of unauthorized dumping and structures on waterways to regularize their permits or risk face demolition of their facilities .
The warning follows the recent flooding in some parts of the municipality.
The MCE’s stance was as a result of a recent hour,-long downpour which led to the submerging of homes, destruction of properties and leaving some families displaced.

The Mce issuedd the caution after touring the affected areas to assess the extent of the damage caused by the heavy downpour.
Speaking to the media in an interview, Hon Obeng described the situation as very disturbing.
He attributed the disaster to over flooding that wrongfully passed through the dumping and unauthorized building points.
The flooded areas that had. been occupied by encroachers serve as waterways, the Mce observed and strongly stated that through his warning, operators within such areas would be decisively dealt with when they failed to regularize their permits.
Hon. Sabastian Obeng, confirmed that the Assembly has received multiple reports regarding the encroachment.
The MCE assured the public that the Assembly is committed to prevent further disaster and confirmed that the illegal developers have defaulted on regulations.
He stated unequivocally that all unauthorized buildings within the waterways would be soon demolished before the situation escalates further.
Hon. Sabastian Obeng took the opportunity to advise developers to strictly adhere to building codes and desist from erecting structures on waterways and other restricted areas.
He warned further that the Assembly would not hesitate to demolish any non-compliance structures when right things are not done..
