A lecturer at the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) whose identity is being withheld for security reasons narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt in the early hours of Tuesday November 11th 2025 at Abura Newtown a community near Cape Coast in the Central region.
However Police at Abura have since launched a full scale investigation into the incident which saw an unknown assailant reportedly attempting to set the lecturer’s vehicle and residence ablaze.
According to security sources the dramatic incident unfolded around midnight when the lecturer who resides with his family in Abura Newtown was reportedly awakened by unusual noises in the neighborhood.
Upon investigations the lecturer discovered a harrowing scene, an unknown individual who had allegedly attempted to set fire to his parked private vehicle.
Information gathered through a reliable source at Abura New Town indicates that further inspection revealed a gallon of petrol placed behind the private car, clearly signifying an intent to ignite the vehicle.
More alarmingly, it was also detected that the lecturer’s residence itself had been sprayed with petrol a situation that strongly suggests a hidden and sinister agenda to set both the car and the entire building ablaze.
According to sources this dangerous plot was nipped in the bud when a sharp noise attracted the attention of vigilant neighbors.
In turn the neighbors raised an alarm which ultimately drew the lecturer to the unbelievable spectacular scene of the attempted arson.
Following the dramatic discovery a report was consequently lodged at the Abura Police station where through
swift action led to the arrest of the suspect whose name is also being withheld for security reasons.
The suspect is currently assisting the police with their investigations to unravel the full cause and motive behind the alleged assassination plot.
