The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie West in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Prince Manu has reaffirmed his commitment to governance which is rooted in integrity, transparency and sense of moral responsibility.
Speaking about his administrative philosophy, Hon. Morris emphasized that as a political head of a district he can only earn and maintain public trust when he operates through the fear of God.
According to the DCE, accountability is not merely a professional obligation but it is a moral imperative that strengthens the relationship between the government and the governed.
He noted that when officials remain transparent they bolster the public’s confidence in the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama who entrusted them with the mandate to serve the citizenry.
A Beacon of Transformational Leadership:
Hon. Morris’s approach to governance drew a high praise from Hon. Daniel Kweku Mensah affectionately known as DKM, Assemblyman for the Moseaso Electoral Area who is also a staunch member of the opposition Npp who recently openly commended the DCE for his honesty and hardworking administration.
The commendation followed a significant intervention in the local education sector where Hon. Morris oversaw the distribution of educational materials and financial support to 400 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates who have gained admissions to Senior High Schools.
The package provided to the students included trunks, chop boxes, mattresses, mosquito nets and exercise books along with cash grants of Ghc 1,000 to the best performance students to assist with their academic journey.
Commitment Over Profit:
In an exclusive interview with the correspondent, Hon. Morris responded to the Assemblyman’s accolades by asserting that his appointment by President Mahama was for the purpose of transforming the lives of the people and not for personal gains.
My duty is to prioritize the welfare of the people and remain accountable for my stewardship at anytime that the public would demands transparency, Hon. Morris stated.
He explained that the educational support initiative was a collaborative efforts involving the Assembly members with the aimed at fostering a culture of academic excellence within the District.
Hon Morris stated that the move is designed to discourage the youth from engaging in illegal mining (galamsey) and other antisocial behaviors that threaten their future and the environment.
Achieving the Reset Ghana Agenda:
Reflecting on his tenure the DCE noted that adherence to Local Government guidelines coupled with presidential guidance and Godfearing principles have been the key policjes and success of his administration.
Hon Prince Morris believes that the aforementioned pillars are essential for achieving the goals of the Reset Ghana Agenda.
The DCE in his conclusion advised and encouraged his fellow appointees and public servants across the country to prioritize accountability in their daily administration and work hard to realize the vision for which they were appointed.
