NDC Nhyieaso PC fumes at KMA over stalled Santase Market.
Aggrieved Traders at the Santasi market in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have made a passionate appeal to the Assembly and the Contractor as a matter of urgency to complete the market project which has been abandoned for almost three years now after the Sod cutting.
On October 13 2022, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Executive Samuel Pyne joined by Nanaom cut sod to renovate the Santasi Market to a satellite market status.
The contractor of the project ABBA Construction Limited assured the traders that within 18 months the market would be ready.
However, after the traders were evacuated and relocated to a community centre built by the Chief of Santasi to trade, the project has been abandoned for almost two years now without any attempt by the contractor to complete the project.
The chief is threatening the traders to vacate the premises to pave the way for social activities.
Some of the traders are facing hardships, with some resorting to street vending in the community.
