Earlier today, Hon. Kwame Agbodza and Dr. Ransford Abbey, CEO of COCOBOD, held a joint meeting to strategize on how to fund and complete stalled cocoa roads projects.
To this end, a committee has been formed, consisting of technical officials from the Ministry of Roads and Highways and COCOBOD to rationalize the cocoa roads portfolio and total commitments. The Committee is expected to submit its report in three weeks.
The rationalization process aims to determine COCOBOD’s actual exposure regarding cocoa roads projects. This will involve assessing both ongoing and stalled projects, evaluating government financial commitments, and recommending a way forward to ensure resources are allocated to complete these projects.
Hon. Kwame Agbodza reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering quality road infrastructure to boost economic activities in cocoa-producing regions.
