The people of Wassa Esaman in the Wassa East district are up in arms against their District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Emmanuel Boakye, the residents expressed their discontent with an announcement made by the DCE at the Information Centre.
According to the residents, the DCE declared that all “strangers” living in the community must migrate from the area. The residents are demanding a clear explanation for this directive, stating that it is the “strangers” who have been contributing significantly to the community’s progress.
They fear that if these individuals are forced to leave, it will negatively impact their wellbeing.
The residents are calling on the chief, stakeholders, and other authorities to intervene and address their concerns. The situation has become dire, with many outsiders and strangers hastily leaving the community, leaving some without the means to pay their outstanding balances, including rent.
The residents are seeking clarification and a resolution to this issue, which they believe will have far-reaching consequences for their community.
