Shama District Naspa set to launch “Pad Donation Project”.
As part of efforts to meet their social obligations, members of the Shama District in the Western Region branch of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) are set to launch a project which aimed at assisting girls between the ages of 14 to 20 to take possessions of lady’s pad on monthly basis.
The program which has the theme : “Invest In Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well- Being would take off at Yabiw, a community town within the Shama District on Wednesday October 11 2023.
Speaking to the correspondent in an exclusive telephone interview from Shama in the Western Region, the president of the Association, Mr Yakubu Sulemana said the ” Pad Donation Project” is initially target to benefit young girls who live at Yabiw.
It is also the aim of the Association to extend the offer to other communities when the outfit’s financial capacity allows them to do so, Sulemana hinted.
Mr Yakubu Sulemana indicated that at this age of technological advancement, there is no need for the society to wait for a girl to become a woman before she can be empowered.
He stressed that empower a girl’s life by giving her a sanitary pad is an indication that you are giving her the wings to fly higher, hence the launching of the project.
The donations of the sanitary pads program, Sulemana said is a monthly affairs and passionately appealed to the general public to participate in the program and donate towards a successful program.
