Subject: Urgent Request for the Replacement of Hon. Bernard Ahiafor as First Deputy Speaker on the Appointment Committee

Dear General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey,

I hope this letter finds you well. As a loyal and committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), I write to express my deep concerns regarding the performance of Hon. Bernard Ahiafor in his role as First Deputy Speaker on the Appointment Committee.

The Appointment Committee plays a critical role in vetting and approving key national appointments, a responsibility that requires firmness, strategic thinking, and an unwavering commitment to the party’s principles. Unfortunately, Hon. Ahiafor’s performance in this role has been less than satisfactory, with noticeable lapses in leadership, lack of assertiveness, and an inability to effectively project the NDC’s position. This has created unease among party members and the general public, who expect a stronger representation in such a crucial committee.

Given the stakes involved, I respectfully urge the party leadership to consider replacing Hon. Ahiafor with a more competent and resolute representative who can uphold the NDC’s credibility and effectively defend our interests in Parliament. A more decisive leadership on the Appointment Committee will not only strengthen our party’s stance but also reinforce public confidence in our ability to govern responsibly.

I trust that this matter will be given the urgent attention it deserves, in the best interest of our great party and the nation at large.

Yours sincerely,

T.T. Kamara
