Following the historic ballot box outcome of the 2024 elections which saw former President Akufo Addo’s departure and ushered in the administration of President John Dramani Mahama a clear sense of relief has taken root among many Ghanaians.

This newfound hope is directed towards the judiciary with the citizens eagerly anticipating a fresh era of equal rights and justice within the country’s legal system.

Emerging reports from across the nation suggest that these expectations are beginning to be met with a notable surge in public confidence in the judiciary particularly under the watchful eyes of the new government.

Nowhere is this renewed faith, more evident than in the Ashanti Region where residents have enthusiastically expressed their gratitude for the quick and transparent manner in which the courts, especially the High Court have been approaching their mandatory state functions.

This website has previously carried a story where a cross section of Kumasi residents lauded the judiciary for fair verdicts in several conventional cases across the region and beyond.

These judicial praises touched down on particularly the genuine verdict regarding an alleged unlawful pastor, whom the court found guilty on charges of constitutional blunder and imposition.

Today the residents remain just as they continue to heap praises on the High Court for its exemplary work in the Ashanti Region and across the country.

The latest commendation for the judiciary’s commitment to justice came to light recently when the High Court on Friday October 25th delivered a life imprisonment sentence to a police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi

This Inspector’s jail followed his vicious conduct in shooting and killing his girlfriend.

After an agonizing three years during which the murder case remained pending the judges, in their resolute pursuit to ensure justice came out with their final, decisive verdict on Friday, October 25th.

This landmark ruling has undoubtedly brought another wave of renewed confidence in the judicial system which signals a clear message that justice though sometimes delayed it can ultimately prevail.

As judiciary credit continues to unfold in the region a businessman in Kumasi Daniel Ampofo, has also made an urgent appeal to the High Court to clear all the contentious church disputes in the region.

Ampofo noted that there are still several cases regarding church issues with judgments pending at the High Court.

However Ampofo strongly believing in the judges has expressed hope that they would diligently apply the laws and swiftly clear such cases through their judicious judgments.

His appeal, coming amidst a backdrop of a rising trust that underscore the public’s belief that the current judiciary is poised to tackle even the most sensitive cases with fairness and impartiality.
