Amidst the prevailing economic challenges facing the nation, a senior leader of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, Elder Abram Tuffour of the Kumasi Yenyawoso branch has issued a powerful call to Christians to remain steadfast in biblical principles by prioritizing kindness and love toward the needy.
Elder Abramham Tuffour delivered the stirring sermon on Tuesday June 23rd, via the airwaves of Advent World Radio 97.7 FM in Kumasi.
He emphasized that despite the financial pressures that have been currently gripping the society, followers of Christ are under a “compulsory mandate” to sustain the vulnerable.

The Principle of the Cheerful Giver:
Drawing from the scriptures, Elder Abraham Tuffour reminded listeners that God is a lover of the cheerful giver.
He noted that the act of showing mercy and supporting the poor is a spiritual key that opens the gates of breakthrough.
Christ he observed, is our cornerstone who set the ultimate example by demonstrating unconditional love for the needy,.
Elder Tuffourstated indicated that as Christians, we are obligated to follow in His footsteps.
Stressing that it is through this kindness that we prepare ourselves for divine favor and sustainable living.
A Call Against Discrimination:
The Elder expressed deep concern regarding the current state of social justice in the country.
He reiterated that those in positions of power who are expected to be the primary advocates for the vulnerable are often the ones who exacerbate their plight through systemic discrimination.
Elder Abraham Tuffour specifically highlighted the judicial system where many impoverished citizens allegedly suffer because they lack the financial resources to secure adequate legal counsel.
He continued that God is the Father of the poor and the needy, citing the Book of Job 29:16. that spoke about poverty and the love of God.
He said as followers of Christ we must avoid all forms of discrimination and that when we treat the poor as inferior, we distance ourselves from the heart of God.
An Eternal Perspective:
During the broadcast, the Elder reminded his audience of the fleeting nature of material wealth.
He challenged Christians to shift their focus from the accumulation of properties that cannot be taken beyond the grave to the accumulation of heavenly treasures through charity.
Our existence on earth is temporary, he remarked and further reminded believers that we will all leave empty handed.
When we support the poor we are not just helping a neighbo but we are making an investment that is recognized in heaven.
A Message for the Future:
Elder Abraham Tuffour concluded his radio sermon with a rallying cry to the Christian community to view their wealth as a tool for Kingdom work rather than personal hoarding.
My message is clear: do good and support the poor. When you become a vessel of God’s mercy, you do not hinder your progress but rather you position yourself to receive an overflow of divine breakthrough,” he concluded.
