Stop Your “Showdown” Threats Or l Will Cause Your Arrest – Ash Npp Chairman To Kennedy Agyapong.

Breaking his silence on what he termed as persistent threats on his life, the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (Npp) Mr Bennard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has signalled a word of advise to Hon.Kennedy Agyapong to henceforth stop insulting or attacking him on political platforms, else he would cause his (Kennedy’s) arrest.

Speaking in an interview at the Kumasi Hello fm afternoon news broadcast on Wednesday October 4, 2023, Wontumi indicated that he though have no bone of contention to pick with the Assin Central Member of Parliament,Hon Kennedy Agyapong, utterances directed to him on his campaign rounds indicates that Hon Kennedy Agyapong has dirty agenda against him.

I am not ready to insult anyone nor having no agenda to attack any party stalwart, but Hon Kennedy Agyapong seems to be attacking me with insults hence l am cautioning him to stop or l will cause his arrest if he goes ahead to insult me, he told listeners.

Wontumi indicated that Hon Kennedy Agyapong is fond of using threatening languages on his political opponents, citing for instance his showdown threats on the Vice president.

I would not take Hon Kennedy Agyapong’s threats for granted alleging that the it was the same Hon Kennedy Agyapong of whose threats led to the murder of a journalist Ahmed Swali who was working with the Tiger Eye Investigative Journalists in Accra.

Chairman Wontumi flatly denied Hon Kennedy Agyapong claims that it was his Agyapong’s effective campaign in Kumasi that led to the victory of the Npp in the last elections, instead Wontumi linked the victory to team work from all party faithful.

He asked that if it is true that it was Hon Kennedy Agyapong’s role that pulled more votes for the party to win, then how many votes Kennedy Agyapong scored for the party in the Central Region of which he is a leading party stalwart there.

Kennedy Agyapong should focus on his political campaign and expect his position in the November 4 presidential polls of the Npp and stop his attacks on political opponents, Wontumi concluded.
