Kumasi, Ashanti Region – Apostle John Kwaku Appiah, the Senior Pastor of Faith Outreach Ministry in Anloga, Kumasi, has offered a powerful message to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, urging him to view his recent election victory as a divine mandate.
In a statement reflecting deep spiritual conviction, Apostle Appiah emphasized the need for President Mahama to prioritize God’s word and serve the people of Ghana with truth, transparency, and unwavering boldness.
Apostle Appiah stressed that the December 7th electoral victory should be seen as a clear indication of the trust Ghanaians have placed in President Mahama and the need for him to live up to their expectations. He cautioned against taking the oath of office, particularly the swearing on the Bible, as a mere formality. “Without the power and authority from God, no leader can perform to satisfaction,” he stated.
The Apostle lamented that Ghana’s development has been hampered by leaders who have disregarded divine guidance, choosing instead to operate with arrogance and disrespect. He challenged President Mahama to uphold the principles of his oath and apply God’s word in his administration, believing that such a path would restore the nation’s destiny.
He urged the President-elect to learn from his victory, be cooperative with the people, and to accept and correct his mistakes.
Apostle Appiah described President Mahama’s victory as historic, a “first of its kind”, noting that it is different from the previous election where the NPP stretched votes to become president. He views the December 7th outcome as a sign that Ghanaians are yearning for positive change and that President Mahama was the people’s clear choice.
This mandate, he asserted, demands an administration characterized by transparency, boldness, truthfulness, and accountability in addressing the myriad challenges facing the nation.
Furthermore, Apostle Appiah called upon President Mahama to ensure that all his appointees and cabinet ministers are sincere, diligent, and dedicated to the progress of the nation. He extended his congratulations to the President-elect on his swearing-in address and commended him for acknowledging the efforts of former President Akuffo-Addo and his Vice President Dr. Bawumia with an assurance of inclusive governance.
Closing his message with well wishes, the clergyman congratulated President Mahama’s for his swearing-in and wished him a long life filled with God’s wisdom. He also offered his best wishes for a prosperous and happy new year for all Ghanaians, while adding a stern warning against associating with “false prophets” who might attempt to confuse his administration.
Apostle Appiah asserted that only the voice of God can truly guide President Mahama in delivering for the country.
Apostle Appiah’s message serves as a clarion call to President Mahama to lead with moral conviction, placing the interests of the Ghanaian people and the will of God at the heart of his administration.
