A vocal faction of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who identify themselves as loyalists of the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyepong has issued a stern warning to the party’s leadership to do the needful before the Npp goes into another opposition in 2028.
The group is calling for an immediate end to what they described as dirty politics and unnecessary political agitation as they urged the party to instead channel its energy into the reorganization of the 2028 general elections.
The call comes in the wake of the recent demonstration staged by the Npp which the group labeled it as an unproductive distraction that threatens the party’s future electoral prospects.

Ebenezer Opoku Agyeman a prominent grassroots leader and staunch supporter of Kennedy Agyepong, did not mince words when he was addressing the media in Kumasi.
He observed that if the leadership of the Npp continue to focus on demonstrations, the party would remain at a standstill to allow the ruling NDC to move from strength to strength to remain in power in the 2028 elections
Agyeman stated that when that happens the same leaders would turn around to blame innocent party stalwarts for the defeat.
Our group are insisting that you should stop the blame game and start the real work of organizing for victory in 2028.
Demonstrations as a Fallacy
The group dismissed the recent Democracy Under Attack demonstration as a deceptive attempt to gain public sympathy through political tension.
According to Agyeman the theme of the protest was intellectually dishonest as the country remains peaceful and governed by the rule of law.
He reiterated that the mission of the demonstration was a complete fallacy adding that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party are trying to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.
Choosing to protest under the guise of ‘Democracy Under Attack’ is wrongfully conceived because there is absolute peace in our democratic era he stressed.
Regarding the arrest and prosecution of former NPP officials the group maintained that these actions are part of the standard process of probity and accountability.
No new government will sit unconcerned while investigating the performance of its predecessor is not enforced,,he added.
If these arrests are the reason for the demonstrations, then our leaders have ‘cut the wrong meat. They failed to understand that a country must develop through transparency.
Hypocrisy and Shameful Motive:
Kofi Tweneboah another outspoken supporter echoejng the sentiments described the recent protests as a shameful motive designed to shield corrupt officials from the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo administration.
Did NDC and John Mahama organized national demonstrations when the NPP administration was then hunting ex Ndc appointees for probe?.
Why does the NPP now defines a state led investigation as ‘witch hunting viewing the case as an attempt to cover up the lapses of the previous regime.
The followers of Kennedy Agyepong emphasized that their hero has over the years advocated for a more disciplined and results oriented approach to politics but whenever Agyepong criticizes the party’s direction he is unfairly branded as a controversial figure bent to collapse the party.
Joe Abronpa said at the time where NPP leaders should be focused on the path to 2028, they prefer creating tension over party organization.
Kennedy Agyepong’s foresight is what the party needs, yet they choose to silence him because his honest critiques make them uncomfortable, the group stated.
