We’re doing a comprehensive review of all contracts and payments requests to verify legitimacy – Finance Minister

The Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has said that the Mahama administration is currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests. This review, he said is aimed at verifying their legitimacy.

To that end, Dr Forson has asked the general public to disregard the payment comments. The Finance Minister said this after denying claims that he had authorized payment to businessman and former Lawmaker for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong for a contract he executed for the previous government.

He said no contractor has been paid. In a post on his X page, he said “Friends, Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa.

“We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy. “Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor. Thank You!”

The Finance Minister’s comment comes in the wake of a report that the government is making payment to contractors including Mr Ken Agyapong who is the owner of the construction firm Ken City Company Limited.
