Akuffo Addo ordered the release of 200 million for compensation but not – petroleum hub

The Petroleum Hub Development Cooperation recently addressed the men of the press and while speaking, they revealed that former President, Akufo Addo ordered the release of 200 million for compensation but it wasn’t released.

“In their Words”

“People who have crops, and who have to be resettled as quickly as possible, but that is not all, that is the most urgent requirement for us to kickstart the activities at the hub. They need to pave way for the construction of the facility, for the final acquisition, the acquisition of the land, so that government would have clean title to the land. Once we have the land secured, investors will now be confident to put their money there. They are lot of investors who are knocking at our door, who are calling us to ask if the land issue is cleared, we think that is a major requirement for investors to fully come in you know”.

“In fact, we have signed MOUs to some investors, but the MOUs remain a piece of paper, just because we haven’t fully acquired the land, and the 300 million will help, it will not be the total figure, but it will help in the process of government acquiring the land. Let me say that in 2024, his excellency the President at that time, Akufo Addo made an open statement that, an amount of 200 million should be released for the payment of compensation, at least to begin the payment, nothing was done, none was released, it was not captured anywhere”, The Petroleum Hub Development said.
