Npp’s Maxwell Kofi Jumah in another hot waters for blowing over ,400 million cedis

Former GIHOC Distilleries Managing Director Maxwell Kofi Jumah is in hot water again after Deputy CEO Magdalene Ndamley accused him of giving himself a weekly allowance of GH¢40,000, which is equal to 400 million old Ghana cedis, while he was in charge. Ndamley said on Radio XYZ on May 2, 2025, that this payment was in addition to his regular salary and fuel allowance.

It was made every Friday at 2:00 p.m. GIHOC lost GH¢25.1 million in 2022 and GH¢25.5 million in 2023, putting them in financial trouble. “I don’t know what to say,” she said, “but I think you should be more careful.” She also accused him of not returning official vehicles, saying that he owes her and that he has taken on too much debt by borrowing too much. GhanaWeb and Ghanamma.com were the first to report these new facts, which have made people even more suspicious of Jumah. He was arrested on June 29, 2025, for allegedly stealing three government cars and was released on bail of GH¢500,000 on June 30.

People are very angry about the accusations, and people like @SIKAOFFICIAL1 on X are calling for Jumah to “rot in jail” for what he did, which they see as a sign of deep-seated corruption among Ghana’s political elite.

President John Dramani Mahama was shocked by GIHOC’s financial problems during May Day celebrations on May 1, 2025. He asked how an alcohol-producing company could lose money when there was a lot of demand for it in the area.

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has also started a National Apprenticeship Program that will help 10,000 people, and people with disabilities (PWDs) will automatically be included. The program, which was announced on June 28, 2025, includes skills like tailoring, carpentry, painting, and engineering. Its goal is to give young people and people with disabilities more power through entrepreneurship.

Some people say that Jumah’s actions, like selling Tema properties worth more than $700,000 without permission, show a bigger problem with people getting away with things. They want changes to the system to stop these kinds of scandals from happening again.
