Chairman Wontumi gives Ghc 300,000 to crush victims families

Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known widely as Chairman Wontumi, showed deep care and support as he visited the Saviour Church in Obogu. He was joined by Hon. Kweku Asante Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem South, along with other members of the party. Their visit came in response to a heartbreaking event where 15 young people lost their lives in a tragic car accident on the Accra–Kumasi highway. The loss shook the community deeply, and the party leaders wanted to be there to comfort the families and help them in this difficult time.

During the visit, the group did not only offer words of comfort but also showed real help. They donated a total of GHS30,000 to the families who lost their loved ones. This financial support was a way to ease some of the burdens these families face after such a sudden loss. Losing a family member, especially in such tragic circumstances, leaves a heavy weight, and the money will help the families with urgent needs they now have to deal with.

In addition to supporting the families, Chairman Wontumi and the team also brought aid to the Saviour Church itself. The church has been working on a building project, and the party members wanted to contribute to this effort. They donated 100 bags of cement to help with the construction work. On top of that, they added another GHS2,000 to support the church’s ongoing project. The church is an important part of the community, providing not just a place of worship but also a center for gathering and support. Helping the church grow and improve its building means helping the whole community grow stronger.

The visit showed that the NPP leadership in the Ashanti Region is connected to the people and feels their pain. Chairman Wontumi’s presence, along with the MP and other party members, was a clear sign that they care beyond politics. It was a human response to a human tragedy. They wanted to stand with those hurting families and show that they are not alone during this hard time. The money and materials given were practical help, but their visit also carried a message of hope and togetherness.

The accident on the Accra–Kumasi highway, which claimed 15 young lives, was a huge shock to everyone. It left many families grieving and a community searching for answers. The gesture from the Ashanti Regional NPP team was one way to offer some comfort and show solidarity. By helping the church build its future, they also reminded the community that life continues and that they must hold on to hope even when things are tough.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako and Hon. Kweku Asante Boateng did more than just visit. They gave a message of care and support, backed by real help in money and building materials. This showed how leaders can make a difference in the lives of their people, not only in words but in actions. The donations to the families and the church will have a lasting impact, helping to heal some of the pain caused by the tragedy. Their visit will be remembered as a moment when leaders stepped up to support a hurting community in a time of great need.
