Following President John Dramani Mahama’s recent State of the Nation Address (SONA), a wave of renewed optimism appears to be sweeping through the Ashanti region.
A post-SONA survey conducted across the region indicates a significant portion of the population has been positively influenced by the President’s address and his outlined vision for the country’s future.
Residents across various districts reportedly voiced their approval of President Mahama’s approach and the policies he has presented as solutions to Ghana’s challenges. Many pointed to early signs of positive economic reforms within his administration as reason for their renewed hope.
In Obuasi, Kwame Nkrumah, a CPP activist, openly praised President Mahama’s handling of corruption-related issues. He believes the President’s actions demonstrate a commitment to addressing this critical problem within the country.
Bright Mensah, a political analyst based in Konongo, emphasized the importance of national unity in achieving economic success. He stated that if Ghanaians rally behind President Mahama’s economic policies, the nation can reclaim its past glory in terms of development.
Even within the opposition NPP, there were expressions of support. Kofi Brew, an NPP stalwart, lauded President Mahama’s wisdom in assuring the nation that he would prioritize the completion of unfinished projects inherited from his predecessor.
In Ejisu, NDC supporter Ofori Armando expressed his surprise and appreciation for President Mahama’s commitment to finding solutions rather than shifting blame. This sentiment echoed the President’s message of accountability and proactive problem-solving.
Similarly, in Tepa, Yaw Amponsah expressed gratitude that the Mahama administration intends to revitalize, rather than abolish, the Free Education policy. This assurance provided comfort and instilled confidence in the President’s commitment to the well-being of all Ghanaians.
Overall, the survey results indicate a prevailing sentiment of optimism and a willingness to support President Mahama’s efforts to transform the country for the benefit of all its citizens. Residents across the Ashanti region have expressed their commitment to backing the President and ensuring the success of his economic vision.
This represents a significant shift and a potential boost for President Mahama’s agenda as he navigates the challenges facing Ghana.
