Dan Botwe Cuts Sod For The Construction Of Kasoa Ofankor- Jei River Road.
The Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr Dan Botwe has cut sod for the construction of the deplorable Kasoa Ofaakor-Jei River road in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central region.
The move forms part of the government’s efforts towards ensuring that major road networks across the urban centres see a massive improvement in the smooth transportation of people and goods.
The 3.7-kilometre Kasoa Ofaakor to Jei River road, which will receive Bituminous Surfacing (Tarred), construction of bridges, culverts and drains, is being constructed at the cost of GH¢35.3 million under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme (GSCSP)
Speaking at a short program to kickstart the project, the Minister called on the contractor to engage the services of residents to create temporary jobs for the people of the area.
Mr Dan Botwe, who is also a member of Parliament for the Okere constituency added that good roads are very critical to the development agenda of the President and the vice president.
He therefore charged the contractor to work towards ensuring that the road stands the test of time after completion by providing the best of services.
The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson also said the government is committed to constructing good roads in the Awutu Senya constituency.
The Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan also appealed to the residents to remove the structures from the roadside to pave the way for the construction of the road.
