Ghanaians Deserve More Than Just The Ballot Box – Issaka Gbeti Iddrisu.

  • As Ghanaians, we take great pride in our active participation in the democratic process.

High voter turnout in elections reflects our commitment to shaping our nation’s future.

However, it is deeply concerning that our role seems limited to just voting, with our capabilities often questioned when it comes to managing state-owned enterprises, driving our economy, or leading national projects.

This marginalization suggests that while we are trusted to elect our leaders, we are not trusted to manage our own affairs.

If we are competent enough to choose our Members of Parliament, assembly members, and President, why are we not seen as competent enough to oversee our state enterprises or contribute to our infrastructure development?

We call on our leaders to recognize that the same intelligence and patriotism that guide us at the polls can also drive our nation’s progress.

It is essential that opportunities are created for Ghanaians to be involved in the management of our country beyond election day.

If our voices are ignored and our capabilities undermined, we will hold our leaders accountable.

The right to vote is powerful, but it must not be our only contribution. We demand recognition of our potential to manage and build our nation, ensuring that the democracy we cherish is truly inclusive.

Ghanaians are more than just voters; we are builders of our future.
