Nana Kwabena Okyere, the Mmratehene of the Ayanfuri traditional area in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, has been confirmed dead after he shot himself with a pump-action gun while testing the potency of juju at a funeral.
The Chief Connectghaanaanews.com confirmed who was among the mourners at the funeral of Abusua Panyin Akwasi Kwateng,being held at Ayanfuri, and has been rushed to the Ayanfuri Pentecost Hospital for medical treatment.
According to the Medical Officer at the facility, Nana Kwabena Okyere was brought to the hospital with a deep gunshot wound in his abdomen, with his intestines protruding and died while he was being given medical treatment.
Police confirmed the incident to our reporters and indicated that the body of the deceased has since been conveyed from the hospital and deposited at Dunkwa-On -Offin Municipal Hospital’s Mortuary.
