In an extraordinary display of leadership and collaboration, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, with the blessing and support of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, facilitated a significant lunch meeting between South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma and Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, the General Overseer of Action Chapel International Ministry. The meeting, held in Accra, was also attended by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II; Charles Abani, the United Nations Resident Coordinator to Ghana; and other notable figures, lending international significance to the event.
The discussions centered on fostering partnerships between faith, governance, and global development.
Archbishop Duncan Williams emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation across Africa. “We should ensure and promote mutual collaboration in Africa,” he stated, urging leaders to work together to address the continent’s challenges and build a sustainable future.
President Jacob Zuma focused on the need for mental liberation as a foundation for Africa’s development. “We must emancipate ourselves from mental slavery,” he remarked, stressing the importance of breaking free from limiting beliefs and adopting a mindset of innovation and progress.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II called for a renewed focus on Africa’s rich cultural heritage as a guide for progress. “We can build an African continent based on our own values and customs,” he said, highlighting the importance of aligning development efforts with the continent’s unique traditions and strengths.
