Residents express fear over threats, looming bloody crash between aggrieved man and his opponents:
Some residents of Asokore in the Sekyere East district of the Ashanti region, have expressed fear, calling on the police, authorities and other security agencies to immediately intervene in a circumstance they describe as a looming danger.
According to these residents, there is the likelihood of bloodshed should stakeholders fail to put proper measures in place. They are therefore calling on leaders and other security agencies to immediately ensure peace in the area before things get worse. They said there is the need for seizure of any such misfortunes.
Their call follow a threat, issued by an aggrieved man who said he was going to put the law into his own hands over encroachers taking over his land.
Mohammed Saani who is not happy with the unfortunate actions taken by some group of persons said he was going to take up the the law into his own hands, thus after realising that no high authority was giving him attention over his complaints.
According to him, one Abusuapanin Agyei has sold his land and intentionally put up a building structure on the land to block him. He said insults and all kinds of unhealthy words are the answers he receives whenever he complains about the situation.
Not wanting to disturb peace, Mohammed Saani said he has reported the case to all the government officials in charge, but non of them has been given me any attention. It is affecting me badly.
Mohammed Saani has therefore threatened to take the law into his own hands to demolish the structure to get his land. “I have decided to put the law into my own hands to cause their downfall first since I know they want to do same to me. Even if it is going to be a bloodshed, we are ready for that”. he said.
The residents said they don’t want things to get escalated and that’s why they are calling on the authorities to intervene very soon.
