The unending chieftaincy disputes in Nsoatre Traditional Council in the Bono region have become a worrying issue that is hindering progress, peace and development in the region.
Even though there are pockets of chieftaincy disputes in the region.
However it is against this background hence Nana Barnabas Dabihene and spokesperson for the Nsoatre Paramount Chief says the tenure of the current president of the Bono House of Chiefs, Nana Agyemang Badu II, has allegedly seen several protracted disputes due to his direct involvement in other traditional areas.
According to the spokesman each paramountcy within the region is independent and governed by the customs and traditions of that particular area.
These customs and traditions make one traditional area quite separate and distinct from the others, Dabihene hinted.
But it seems Nana Dormaahene has developed a keen interest in the Nsoatre Chieftaincy issues,
Meanwhile Nsoatre is not and can never be a subject of Dormaa Traditional area, Nana Barnabas pointed out and stressed that Nsoatre was in existence before Dormaa and his crony community Suma migrated from Akwamufie to their present settlement.
Nana Barnabas alleged that history has it that Suma spent some precious time with the people of Nsoatre before migrating to their current settlement.
Nana revealed that Nsoatrehene at that time gifted Suma with Efiri tete drum as a symbol of friendship between them after their final. settlement at their current base..
Dabihene of Nsoatre claims that with all these in mind, the current Dormaa and Sumahene are allegedly using the Bono Regional House of Chiefs as their bonafide asset an a tool to fight for their parochial interest.
Some of their alleged negative intents against Nsoatre include:
1.Sumahene and Dormaahene have allegedly done everything possible to impose one Foster Agyei Korang who the Kingmakers and the Nsoatre Royals have insisted that he is not a royal and cannot ascend to the prestigious stool of Nsoatre.
All their attempts became negated due to strict resistance from the two parties.
2.Sumahene ruled that Agyei Korang, who was not joined to a case or given any power of attorney should be allowed to continue the case of a deceased queen mother.
While even it is clear that Sumahene judgement was completely contrary to the point of his verdict as it was outrightly treated with contempt by the Court of Appeal.
3.Both Dormaa and Sumahene are further allegedly using the limited state resources at the Bono Regional House of Chiefs on unnecessary litigations against Nsoatre traditional Council.
The question is how can the Regional House of Chiefs who is supposed to serve as a conduit to send Chieftaincy Declaration (C.D) forms to the National House of Chiefs becomes a litigant by filing a case against Nsoatre Traditional Council?
Thus, Bono Regional House of Chiefs(Plaintiff) vs. Nsoatre Traditional Council(Defendant).
The spokesperson asked about 6 kind of interest the Bono Regional House of chiefs have in the Nsoatre Chieftaincy affairs?
Nana Barnabas further asked, are these two chiefs now Kingmakers or royals of Nsoatre?
4.Right nowhere the Bono Regional House of Chiefs presided over by Dormaahene have been fined seventy-five thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 75,000.00) by both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal to pay to Nsoatre Traditional Council.
Are they going to pay from their own pockets or they would use public funds and what would be the justification?
5.Why should the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs sit down unconcerned for individuals to use a state institution to fight unworthy course after receiving a petition from the Nsoatre Traditional Council which was sent to the President?
Can we link this to politics?
Towns like Suma, Wenchi, Sunyani and several others have disputes but the Bono Regional House has been able to send their C.D forms to be gazzetted. Even Sunyani, who has about two rival chiefs has been gazetted recently. What at all is preventing the House from Submitting Nsoatre Manhene’s C.D forms to the National House of Chiefs for him to be gazetted? Some questions being asked are
i. What is the main interest of Dormaa and Suma Manhene in the installation of Nsoatre Manhene?
ii.Are they working to frustrate any chief in Bono who aligns himself with the Ashante Kingdom?
iii.Why are the newly installed chiefs who are Yes men to Dormaahene being gazzetted leaving Nsoatremanhene whose C.D. forms have been on the table of Dormaahene for almost four years.
iv.Why is the government and the Minister in charge of chieftaincy silent on the behaviour of Dormaahene in the Bono region, is it because he is their party member?Chieftaincy as an institution must be accorded with the necessary respect which must be preceded by truthfulness, transparency and accountability.

Nana Barnabas believes that with the above exposure that clearly speaks of itself about the Nsoatre Chieftaincy Disputes, government would be convinced to step in to end the fracas to help develop Nsoatre for the benefit of the citizens and entire nation in general.
