No registration Cashew purchases would be stalled – Tree Crop Development Authority To Cashew Dealers.
Information reaches this authentic website indicates that Tree Crop Development Authority have directed all Cashew Buyers in the country to register with their respective Associations or they would not be allowed to purchase Cashew nuts with immediate effect.
To this end, the Executive members of the Cashew Traders and Exporters Association of Ghana have therefore called on all cashew buyers within the Bono East region to register with an association to enable them regulate the cashew business with the new directive from the Tree Crop Authority.
Addressing cashew farmers here, the National Organizer of the Tree Crops Development Authority Mr Kwabena Owusu said the outfit has an act of, 2019(Act 1010) that gives mandate to regulate the sustainability and production, processing and trading of tree crops such as cashew, rubber, coconut, oil palm, shea and mango among others.
In the section 27 of Act 1010, a person or group of persons or company engaged in the tree crops value chain shall have to register with the Authority.
Mr. Kwabena Owusu asserted.
As National Organizer of the Cashew Traders and Exporters Association of Ghana, he urged cashew farmers and stakeholders in Techiman to form Associations that can support them to licenses for their businesses next year cashew season.
He stressed that they will be using licenses to purchase the produces and it is very necessary for farmers to join associations.
On his part, Mr Mumuni Issah* Chairman of the Techiman North and South Cashew Traders and Exporters Association of Ghana in an interview stated that all the offices within Techiman are opened for all farmers to go and register with the Association.
