Sampa Clean-Up exercise: I was not served with any letter to suspend the exercise – Nana Yaw Sammo-Duah
Chief of Sampa Traditional Council in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, Nana Yaw Sammo-Duah, his elders and the entire citizens of the area on Saturday February 20 2024 embarked on a clean up exercise with the aim at creating environmental awareness in the people to become abreast with the need on how clean environment promotes good health in the society.
Prior to the exercise, there was a letter from the Bono Regional Co-ordinating Council which was allegedly seeking the suspension of the exercise to avoid insecurity in the area
This was due to the recent chieftaincy impasse that ensued between two families claiming ownership of the Sampa stool.
Speaking to the media in an interview after the clean-up exercise, Nana Yaw Sammo-Duah, the overlord of Sampa Traditional Council explained that he was not served with any letter to suspend the planned exercise.
He stressed that he has only sighted a document being speculated on social media which he treated it with contempt become no physical person brought the said letter to attention for action
He added that he was taken aback on the decision of the Regional Co-ordinating Council’s plan to suspend the exercise that was geared towards the elimination of dirt from the streets of Sampa which according to him had nothing to do with disputes and conflicts.
On his part, Mr. Daniel Okra, youth leader of Sampa, the exercise was peacefully conducted without any trouble therefore the decision taken by the leadership of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council led by the regional Minister to suspend the clean-up exercise means they have negative intentions for the people and Nananom of Sampa.
