Captain (Rtd.) Reuben Solomon Jabari, an aspiring NDC Constituency Chairman for Atwima Kwanwoma, has launched an economic empowerment initiative aimed at providing business and financial support to party members across the constituency.
Dubbed “Fund Me Go,” the initiative was launched at Twedie on Tuesday and is designed to provide members with access to financial support ranging from GH¢2,000 to GH¢20,000, alongside opportunities to acquire Pragia and Aboboyaa to establish or expand income-generating activities.
Captain Jabari, the immediate past NDC Branch Chairman at Island City, said the initiative forms part of his vision to economically empower party members and strengthen the party’s branches across the constituency.
Under the vehicle support component, beneficiaries are expected to pay 30 per cent of the cost upfront and repay the remaining amount over a six-month period while using the vehicle to generate income.
Captain Jabari said his target is to facilitate access to more than 600 Pragia and Aboboyaa for NDC members who are interested in the transportation business.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Utrak Savings and Loans and is expected to support members engaged in transportation, trading, tailoring and other small-scale businesses.
According to Captain Jabari, the financial support will range from GH¢2,000 to GH¢20,000, with flexible repayment arrangements and relatively low interest rates intended to make the scheme accessible to beneficiaries.
Speaking to journalists after the launch, Captain Jabari said the initiative was not solely about providing financial assistance but also about creating sustainable economic opportunities for party members.
“My vision is to ensure that all party branches in this Constituency are well revived for effective campaign,” he said.
He urged NDC members across Atwima Kwanwoma to take advantage of the initiative and use the support to establish sustainable businesses that could improve their livelihoods and enable them to support their families.
Captain Jabari said the programme would be decentralised to reach NDC members in communities across the constituency.
He expressed the hope that “Fund Me Go” would contribute to the economic empowerment of party members while helping to revitalise the party’s grassroots structures in Atwima Kwanwoma.
