Former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is non-comparable in the party when it comes to finding a successor for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo.
According to him, the Vice President is the Greatest Of All Time (the GOAT) when it comes to NPP politics.
Speaking on Akoma FM in Kumasi in an interview, Nana Obiri Boahen categorically stated that he is going to bring the Vice President Bawumia to the presidential candidacy race when the time is due because he (Bawumia) cannot be compared in the party.
“I have said that, when it is time for the NPP to lift the ban, I’ll bring on board someone called Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, he is the Greatest Of All time (the GOAT)”, Nana Obiri Boahen said.
“He is the one who has been awarded by the Pan African Magazine for having great influence in Ghana. Bawumia is the GOAT”, he added.
Meanwhile many political analysts, individuals and groups have criticized the Vice President for non -performing especially when it comes to the management of the Ghanaian economy and also the drastic depreciation of the Cedi. Some also say his poor leadership ended Ghana’s decision to go to the IMF
However, responding to this, Nana Obiri Boahen affirmed that the issue of economic hardship does not come in when the name Dr. Bawumia is mentioned in the country’s politics.
“Whether the dollar is appreciating or depreciating, all I say is Bawumia the GOAT. Whatever that will happen to the dollar, you will live to testify that Bawumia is the GOAT”, he stressed
