Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has shared details of an important visit from the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

Akufo-Addo expressed deep appreciation for the Chief Imam, describing him as a powerful symbol of peace, unity, and religious tolerance in Ghana. He noted that the Chief Imam has, for many years, played a key role in promoting harmony between people of different faiths and backgrounds across the country.
The former president revealed that his friendship with the Chief Imam goes back many years, even before he became President of Ghana. According to Akufo-Addo, the Chief Imam has always been supportive of him and his family, not only during his time in office but even after leaving power.
He praised the religious leader for his continued prayers and wise counsel, which have helped to strengthen national peace and stability.
Akufo-Addo said he used the opportunity to personally thank the Chief Imam for keeping him in his prayers and for contributing to Ghana’s peace and unity, especially at a time when several countries in West Africa are facing political and social challenges.
He also emphasized that the country owes a lot to the Chief Imam for his tireless work and moral leadership. Akufo-Addo ended his message by saying that Ghana will always remain grateful for the Chief Imam’s positive impact on national development and his role in shaping the country’s story of peace and togetherness.
