In a nation where leadership often adopts a reactive rather than a proactive stance, the safety of its citizens hangs in the balance.
Too ofte Ghanaian authorities wait for catastrophes to reach a breaking point before mobilizing national resources to combat them ultimately to avoid the loss of precious lives and infrastructure.
This recurring cycle of negligence treating the warnings of genuine spiritual leaders with contempt until disaster strikes has once again brought the prophecies of Bishop Dr. John Yaw Adu, founder and leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel into the national spotlight.

During his 31st December 2025 crossover service Bishop Dr. John Yaw Ad delivered a series of sobering prophecies.
His divine revelations touched on a range of alarming events including a surge in crime, devastating fire outbreaks, calamitous flooding, and heightened threats to internal security.
Furthermore he warned of international turbulenc specifically attacks on American interests and the expansion of Boko Haram’s atrocities across African borders.
Bishop Adu’s message was clear: these were not mere predictions but calls to action.
He urged the nation to prioritize unceasing fasting and prayers to seek God’s intervention and mitigate the escalation of these crises.
Yet as the months unfold the political landscape remains heate and tragedies that the Bishop warned against have begun manifesting with grim consistency.
Perhaps most alarming is the wave of contract killings targeting traditional rulers. the custodians of Ghana’s heritage.
The peaceful fabric of the nation is being torn apart as chiefs and queen mothers are gunned down as if they were vermin
The Atebubu Tragedy: In February this year. the nation was rocked by the cold blooded murder of the Queen Mother of Atebubu Abamba in the Bono East region Nana Serwaa Gyankomoma.
Investigations later revealed a chilling plot of the perpetrator behind as the contract killers hired by Nana Sankofi the Chief of Akokoome in the Bono East Region who is now in police custody.
The Ayanffuri Incident: This was followed by another horrified event in April, where a Youth Chief of Ayanfuri in the Upper Denkyira West District in the Central region Nana Kwabena Okyere was shot and killed at a funeral ground.
These incidents, coupled with persistent fire outbreaks and floodings in. the various regions, serve as a reminder that the spiritual warnings that was issued by Bishop Adu were not alarmist or rhetorics, rather they were markers of a looming national crisis.
Is the Government Listening?
The disconnect between the spiritual guidance and governance has led many to question whether the Ghana is prepared to bridge the gap.
Kofi Awiah, a resident of Adum Kumasi raised a poignant question during an interview with the Correspondent
“Is the government ready to collaborate with Bishop Adu to organize national prayer and fasting to curb the country’s disasters?”
His sentiment was echoed by others including Albert Ampong a driver who believes that the intensity of the prophesied disasters requires a radical approach.
As far as these prophecies are concerned, Ampong noted that a national weekly program of fasting and prayers is the only spiritual solution to the accidents and violence that have been plaguing nation.
