Don’t believe the claims that market women in Winneba abandoned Prof. Opoku-Agyemang. The Campaign Team of the Running Mate of the NDC, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has noted a fake news report published online by the Daily Guide Network titled Mahama Running Mate Runs Away From Winneba Market. The publication is false, baseless, and a figment of the fertile imagination of its author. For the records, Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang had a very successful campaign tour of Winneba on Friday in the Efutu constituency. She visited market women in their shops and stalls at the Winneba market, and interacted with shoppers and lorry drivers, amongst others, amidst cheers and encouragement from the public. She also drove through some principal streets of Winneba and was given a rousing welcome. At the Winneba lorry station, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang addressed a well-attended rally where she highlighted the benefits of NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour Economy policy as well as supporting about one million women in business through the upcoming Women’s Development Bank initiative. At no point was the Member of Parliament for Efutu present at the same place and time that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was at the Winneba market. The claim by the Daily Guide Network that market women abandoned Prof. OpokuAgyemang at the Winneba market is therefore a fabrication of the fake news publishers and should be disregarded by the general public.
