Mile 9 is a sub community in the Amansie Central District, of the Ashanti region of which majority of the residents are cocoa farmers reports King Amoah.

The community lacks social amenities like

toilet, drinkable water, community center among others.

Most of the lands at mile 9 have been used for illegal mining activities which poses as a treat to the future generations in the community.

In an interview with a cross section of the residents they expressed deep regret about the lack of toilet facilities in the area which have compelled many to deficate at anywhere they find it appropriate.

According to them they are very disappointed in their leaders especially the member of parliament for the area Hon Akwasi Gyamfi and the District Chief Executive Hon. MICHAEL DONKOR who have allegedly turned their backs on them despite several appeals to them to solve the challenges.

Having no avenue for redress hence the call on the government to come to their aid to avoid further open defication in the area which could likely bring about diesease outbreak to disrupt government attention.
