Mahama’s Reset Ghana Policy is failing to alleviate poverty and hunger – Npp activist

A prominent activist within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that the Mahama’s
Reset Ghana Agenda has not virtually impacted on the lives of Ghanaians who are currently grappling with unprecedented levels of poverty and hunger.

Bright Kodie a well known figure in Kumasi who lives at Buokroma a town near the Kumasi Airport observed that a significant portion of the Ghanaian population are experiencing more hardships than before.

 

 

He reiterated that many Ghananians voted for President John Dramani Mahama and his proposed Reset policies in the 2024 elections with the hope of finding solutions to their economic woes.

Kodie said after over a year in office the citizens of Ghana are yet to witness any improvement in their livelihoods and questipned the effectiveness of the Reset mantra that has now been a constant campaign within the rank and file of the NDC’ officials.

What evidence do we have that this Reset policy is actually on course to achieve its objectives, he challenged.

According to the NPP activist the current economic climate has made employment opportunities scarce and making people to find it difficult to get their daily bread.

He further elaborated on the hardships faced by the various sectors of the economy citing, market women, importers, exporters and all classes of business communities as an example of those who are struggling for their survival.

Kodie attributed these economic circumstances to a surge in a negative social consequences.

He highlighted a disturbing trend where due to economic hardships many youth have turned into prostitutes and criminals while teenage pregnancy is on the ascendant.

The activist also pointed to the alarming situation in educational institutions.

He cited the recent threats by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) to close down schools due to food scarcity and the government’s alleged inability to provide funds to address these shortages.

Despite these visible and palpable economic hardships Kodie expressed dismay at the continued endorsement of the government’s policies by NDC supporters.

He specifically referenced the Reset agenda’s promise to end illegal mining (galamsey) and retrieval of stolen funds and questioned the outcome of such assurances given to the people.im 20024.

Through the Reset policy they promised to end galamsey and use policies to retrieve stolen funds, hisKodie remarked.

He asked that what do Ghananians observe today and drawn attention to the performance of the ‘Operation Retrieve All Loot’ (ORAL) which appears to be failure in addition to the NDC supporters now becoming kingpins at the galamsey sites.

The NPP activist concluded his message with an urgent call on President Mahama to take new measures to improve his Reset Ghana Policy among others before Ghanaians completely denounce his administration.
